5782 שֹׁפְטִ֣ים וְשֹֽׁטְרִ֗ים תִּֽתֶּן־לְךָ֙ שֹׁפְטִ֣ים וְשֹֽׁטְרִ֗ים תִּֽתֶּן־לְךָ֙ בְּכׇל־שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ אֲשֶׁ֨ר יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֶ֛יךָ נֹתֵ֥ן לְךָ֖ לִשְׁבָטֶ֑יךָ וְשָׁפְט֥וּ אֶת־הָעָ֖ם מִשְׁפַּט־צֶֽדֶק׃ The pasuk could have just read שֹׁפְטִ֣ים וְשֹֽׁטְרִ֗ים תִּֽתֶּן בְּכׇל־שְׁעָרֶ֔יךָ. What exactly is the Torah emphasizing with the word לך? Maybe we can suggest the following idea: undoubtedly each individual would acknowledge the importance of such שופטים ושוטרים for the entirety of the klal and even for the person standing next to him; but for he himself, as an individual, he might feel that it is not so crucial....
